100-year-old Italian Woman Hits the Open Road After License Renewed

Let's motor.

Age, after all, is just a number — right?

Just ask Candida Uderzo, the Italian centenarian who just got her driver’s license renewed.

According to The Guardian, she is at least the country’s third 100-and-over driver deemed fit to cruise around Italy and its countrysides in recent years.

“This renewal makes me happy and will make me feel a little bit freer too,” Uderzo told Corriere della Sera. “I’m lucky, I’m 100 years old, and being so healthy is a surprise to me too. I never take tablets, just the odd sleeping pill once in a while.”

She got back behind the wheel after passing an eye exam in her home province of Vicenza in northern Italy.

In fact, her vision is so good she can still read the newspaper without glasses.

Not bad at all.
