Primavera Lodge returned to the Edgewood Country Club, in June 2024, for its annual Lodge Memorial Mass and Luncheon to honor our deceased members. As always, the mass is celebrated with the reading of the names of all our deceased members. Thank you to Father Carmen D’Amico for joining us and celebrating the mass. In addition to the memorial service, Primavera Lodge honored our younger members pursuing their education beyond high school. This year, we had eight recipients who were each awarded $1,000 from the Vincent and Rose Cataldi Scholarship/Primavera Lodge #149. The 2024 Scholarship Recipients are:
- Our third-year award was presented to Anna Rita Capella, who graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School. Anna is attending Carnegie Mellon University and studying biological sciences (neuroscience track) and professional writing.
- Caleigh Corson, who graduated from Plum High School, was awarded our second-year award. Caleigh is attending Penn West University and studying criminal justice/homeland security. Joseph Scott, who graduated from Central Catholic High School, was also awarded our second-year award. Joseph is attending Geneva College and studying accounting.
- Our first-year awards were presented to Marina Grado, Shawn McFarland and Grace Perla. Marina, who graduated from Gateway High School, is attending Washington and Jefferson College and studying computer science. Shawn, who graduated from Madonna High School, is attending West Liberty University and studying criminal justice. Grace, who graduated from Norwin High School, is attending Duquesne University and studying education.
In addition to being awarded the Vincent and Rose Cataldi Scholarship, Primavera Lodge was proud to award Grace Perla as this year’s winner of the Danny Cerrone Sr. Scholarship, and Caleigh Corson and Marina Grado with the Gertraud Cerrone Scholarships. Thanks to the donations from our members and friends, Primavera Lodge is proud to honor the legacy of our former President, Danny, and long-time member, Trudi.
Primavera Lodge is extremely proud of our scholarship recipients. We thank those in attendance at the luncheon and wish them much success. It was very gratifying to see a number of past scholarship recipients also at the luncheon. The Primavera Lodge Christmas Party is scheduled for Sunday, December 8 at Edgewood Country Club. We are excited to host our Members and members from Forest Hills Lodge, as we welcome our special guest, Santa Claus, to celebrate with the children.
