Italy’s wine exports were up by six percent in 2015, with the country’s sparkling wine, especially Prosecco, being more popular ever.
As you see in the New Year, chances are you’ll be offered a glass of sparkling wine, and most likely one from Italy.
Some 190 million bottles of Italy’s fizzy wine have been uncorked abroad over the festive season, according to figures from Coldiretti, the farmers’ association, while exports jumped by 13 percent between January and September.
