Stanley Tucci Returns to Italy With New 10-Part Docuseries

The docuseries will explore 10 regions of Italy. Production will begin in the coming weeks.

Stanley Tucci is back.

The actor just signed a production deal with Disney’s National Geographic to create a 10-part docuseries titled “Tucci — The Heart of Italy.”

The show will air on the Nat Geo cable network.

Tucci will explore the cuisine and culture in 10 different regions of Italy.

Production will begin in January 2024, according to Variety.

“National Geographic is all about adventure and exploration, and I am honored to take viewers once again to explore Italy through the lens of food,” said Tucci, in a prepared statement. “In Italy’s many distinct regions there is always something new to discover and I’m more than excited to begin the process in partnership with BBC Studios.”

Tucci had led two seasons of “Searching for Italy” for CNN, prior to its abrupt cancellation last year. The Emmy Award-winning show was a major success, and it was viewed as a successor to Anthony Bourdain’s “Parts Unknown.”

However, CNN, saddled with debt and declining ratings, was forced to cancel the show.

The actor’s return to the small screen is welcome news to fans around the globe who crave all things Italian.
